CITYLINK GOLD INTRODUCES NEW SERVICE BETWEEN EDINBURGH AND INVERNESS

Coach operator Scottish Citylink has announced the introduction of its first Citylink Gold service on the Edinburgh to Inverness route.

Citylink Gold is a luxury coach service, offering passengers the opportunity to experience first class travel at economy prices.

From Monday 5 June, passengers will be able to travel on board the brand new, state of the art coaches between Edinburgh and Inverness.

Citylink Gold offers the usual reliable great value service expected with the Scottish Citylink brand with the added benefit of:

The coach operator, which is operated through a joint venture between Stagecoach and international transport group ComfortDelGro will provide two Citylink Gold journeys in each direction, seven days a week. Apex fares are available for £40 return and must be booked at least two days in advance of travel.

A road show was held on Castle Street in Edinburgh today, with another planned for between 10am-3pm on Friday 2 June at the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Falcon Square, Inverness. The event will offer passengers the chance to try out the state of the art vehicles and pick up a branded goody bag.

Operations Director of Scottish Citylink, Peter Knight said: “We are introducing these new services to offer our passengers a faster journey option between two of the country’s most popular cities. Passengers who use our Gold services tell us regularly that journey times are key, so we wanted to introduce this direct, luxury option to a new audience.

“Our other Gold services operating from Glasgow to Aberdeen and Inverness and Edinburgh to Aberdeen have proved to be very successful, so introducing a new service between Edinburgh to Inverness is the next natural step.”
