SCOTTISH CITYLINK COMPETITION WINNERS UNVEIL THEIR DRAWING ON COACH IN EDINBURGH

A primary school child in Edinburgh, who entered a competition to draw a picture of what the city of Edinburgh meant to them, saw her special piece of artwork unveiled on the back of a Scottish Citylink coach last week.

Scottish Citylink launches first direct coach service between Edinburgh airport and Glasgow City CentreGrace Lily Scratcherd, age 10 from Royal Mile Primary School, Edinburgh, entered the Scottish Citylink competition in November to draw a picture titled ‘My City’. Grace’s winning picture includes drawings of thistles, the Scots Monument and the words ‘I love Scotland’.

Grace was invited, alongside her class, P7, to see the unveiling of the picture on the back of a Scottish Citylink vehicle operating the 900 service which offers journeys between Edinburgh and Glasgow up to 50 times a day.

The winners were also invited on a special trip to the Glasgow Science Centre, travelling on their specially designed bus.

The ‘My city’ bus design competition was open to primary school children in Edinburgh and Glasgow, aged 5-11. Pupils were asked to draw a picture that explained what their city meant to them. A winner was chosen from each city with the image placed on the rear of a coach travelling from their local city.

Marketing Manager for Scottish Citylink, Nicola Campbell said, “It was fantastic to see the many wonderful pictures that the children produced based on their home city of Edinburgh. It was obvious that a lot of time and effort had gone into the drawings. It was lovely to see their excitement when their newly painted coach arrived at the school. “

Grace also won £100 worth of Love 2 Shop vouchers to spend in a variety of different stores.
