Scottish Citylink Launch First Direct Edinburgh to Oban Service
Scotland’s leading provider of express coach services, Scottish Citylink, is set to launch a new service linking Edinburgh to Oban on Monday 18th May, 2009. And thanks to financial support from Argyll and Bute Council, the impressively quick 978 service is sure to become one of Edinburgh’s most popular this summer, as it completes the journey to Oban in just 3 hours and 45 minutes.
All services from Edinburgh to Oban, including the 978, will allow passengers to connect to Calmac ferry terminals and will operate to Citylink’s recognised standards on quality and affordability. Citylink will also continue to guarantee seats for all advanced bookings.
With prices starting from as little as £5, for a Super Single, the services are set to be hugely popular with commuters and tourists alike and introduces for the first time, a direct service to Oban from Scotland’s capital.
With journey’s leaving as early as 6.45 and returning as late as 18.15, travellers now have an even greater opportunity to escape the city for a break on Scotland’s stunning west coast.
Oban, known as ‘The Gateway to the Isles’, is an increasingly popular destination for British and international tourists looking to explore one of Scotland’s most beautiful ports.
