SCOTTISH CITYLINK LAUNCHES NEW VEHICLES ON GLASGOW-SKYE SERVICES

Scottish Citylink has today (22 June) announced the introduction of new vehicles for customers travelling between Glasgow, Fort William and Skye.

The coach operator, a joint venture between Perth-based transport group Stagecoach and international transport operator ComfortDelGro, is to introduce a fleet of four new, state of the art coaches to the 915 and 916 route from tomorrow, Friday 23 June.

The Spanish made Scania Irizar i6 vehicles will replace the current three year old vehicles and will offer passengers the latest in luxury travel across the route.

The new coaches worth £1 million feature toilets, air conditioning and are fully accessible.

West Coast Motors will continue to operate the contract on behalf of Scottish Citylink Coaches.

Peter Knight, Operations Director at Scottish Citylink said: “We are excited to be launching these new vehicles to the route and it is great news for the hundreds of passengers who use these services every week. We hope passengers will enjoy travelling on these new coaches and we look forward to attracting even more people on to our greener, smarter coach services.”

Scottish Citylink has recently upgraded vehicles on several routes across the entire network to ensure that customers can benefit from the very best in coach travel.
