Citylink Announce Hundreds of New Airport Shuttle Services
Scottish Citylink is making it easier for business jetsetters and holidaymakers to get to Glasgow Airport following the announcement of hundreds of extra shuttle bus services.
The company has improved its 905 service between Glasgow Airport and the city centre by putting on an additional 465 departures every week.
Three extra buses will help to run the extra journeys, which have been introduced in response to demand. The new vehicles take the total number of Citylink Airport shuttles to 10.
During peak hours, the frequency of the service has been increased from 10-minute intervals to up to every seven minutes. In off-peak times, travellers will only have to wait a maximum of 15 minutes for a bus until 11pm, when services turn half-hourly.
To ensure that passengers catch their early flights, services now start from Buchanan Bus Station at 4.40am from Monday to Saturday, an hour earlier than previously. The Sunday service runs from 7am.
The service takes just 25 minutes to travel to and from the Airport and is totally flexible, meaning passengers can hop on or off the bus at any point on the route. A single 905 ticket is £3.50, and a return just £5.30, making shuttle journeys much cheaper than travelling by taxi.
Graeme Hoggan, Commercial Manager at Scottish Citylink, said:"Air travel is getting more popular every year, so we’re delighted to be offering Glasgow Airport visitors more opportunities than ever to use our fast and frequent shuttle services."
“Almost nine million people travelled using the airport last year, and even more are expected to fly from Glasgow next year.
“Our reliable and affordable services are a great way to ensure that you get to your destination with a minimum of fuss.”
The increased travel links between Glasgow Airport and the city have been welcomed by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.

"In order to sustain growth and continue to attract visitors to Glasgow, we must work to improve connectivity between the city and the airport. With passenger numbers at Glasgow Airport predicted to virtually double to over 15 million passengers a year by 2030, we need to ensure Glasgow is an easy city to visit and do business."
