Rugby supporters are driven to Murrayfield
Scottish rugby fans are set to benefit from a new dedicated coach service to Murrayfield for the Scottish Mutual Autumn Tests this November.
The exclusive tie-up between Scottish Rugby and Scottish Citylink will involve express coach services from Aberdeen, Ayr, Dumfries, Dundee, Dunfermline, Falkirk, Inverness, Kilmarnock, Perth, Stirling and departure points in the Borders to the Capital.
The deal between the two organisations now means that supporters will arrive at Murrayfield one hour before kick-off and leave one hour after the final whistle.
Fans travelling with Scottish Citylink will also be able to claim 50p off a pint of Calder’s or Carlsberg, the official beer of Scottish Rugby, on presentation of their bus tickets at the Calder’s beer tent at Murrayfield.
Phil Anderton, Commercial and Marketing Director for the Scottish Rugby Union, said: “Scotland fans have made it clear to us in the past that they cannot get to and from international matches at times which are convenient to them.
"We are working towards enhancing the total experience for all those visiting Murrayfield on match days, such as pre and post match entertainment and exciting ticket offers. The partnership with Citylink is a further extension of our efforts to ensure that we remove any obstacle for people to come and watch first-class rugby."
Neil Wood, managing director of Scottish Citylink, said his organisation was enjoying a significant development phase, having worked successfully with T in the Park during the summer, launched a TV advertising campaign and become main sponsor of St Johnstone football club.
“Each of these projects has considerably added to the public profile of the company and the collaboration with Scottish Rugby will again introduce Citylink and our services to a new audience and we are hoping will lead to a long term involvement with international rugby.”
The Scottish Mutual Test Series at Murrayfield includes Scotland v Romania at 4.30pm on Saturday 9 November, Scotland v South Africa at 2.30pm on Saturday 16 November and Scotland v Fiji on Sunday 24 November at 3pm.
Issued by the BIG partnership on behalf of Scottish Citylink.
