Citylink enters the world of e-commerce with the launch of on-line booking
Scottish Citylink today (30th September) launched its on-line booking service at www.citylink.co.uk.
Customers will now be able to book tickets and reserve seats on any of the 26 routes operated by Citylink across Scotland and beyond.
The new STAR (Sales, Ticket and Reservations) system which represents an in investment of £750,000 from Scottish Citylink has been developed by leading e-solutions providers, Versko.
Using the latest technology, the on-line booking service will ensure easy navigation for customers and retailers alike.
The introduction of on-line booking is part of Citylink’s continuing growth and development strategy to maintain its position as Scotland’s leading express coach operator.
To celebrate the introduction of web bookings, Citylink is offering thousands of seats at only £1 for travel on its network during October.
Paul Murphy, Marketing Manager for Citylink, said: “Our fares have always offered value for money but the introduction of super low web fares will mean that customers can save even more.
“Price is important, but it has to be matched with travel on modern, comfortable coaches, running fast and frequent services. We are confident that our overall package is unbeatable and that we can grow the use of coach travel over the coming months.”
Citylink customers now have the choice of buying a ticket in a variety of ways including: on-line at www.citylink.co.uk, over the telephone, by visiting any of their offices or agents, or from the driver on board the coach.
The £1 web offer is available as a Super Single. It is available in limited numbers on the majority of Citylink services. Conditions apply.
