Scottish Citylink hits the right note with music fans
Scottish Citylink has hit the right note with thousands of music fans this summer.
The company has played a key role in the music scene by providing services to some of the biggest acts to come to Scotland this year.
As the official transport provider for T in the Park, the company brought over 26,000 music lovers across Scotland to Kinross last weekend.
There were over 900 departures to and from the event with 300 buses used. The transport provider also managed to clear the grounds of Balado on Saturday and Sunday in less than two hours.
Special services throughout the summer were also laid on for a number of high profile music events including Robbie Williams, Eminem and Bon Jovi. A total of 40 double-decker buses delivered fans to Murrayfield for the Robbie Williams concert alone.
Paul Murphy, Citylink Marketing Manager, said: “Working with DF Concerts on these events has been great fun and we’re pleased to have helped make the events a success by easing the hassle of getting to and from the venues.
“We are confident that we can build on our success and encourage more people to travel to big events by bus in the future.”
Colin Rodger, DF Concerts Event Organiser, said: “Citylink has done a fantastic job in ensuring that T in the Parkers, as well as music fans coming to our other events, travel with the greatest ease. Even the police and the local council commented on their contribution to the festival. We look forward to working with Citylink on other events in the future.”
