Scottish Citylink awarded Investors in People status

13.06.2003

Scottish Citylink, Scotland’s leading provider of express coach services, has been accredited with the highly coveted Investor in People accolade.

The company received the award after achieving substantial progress in its training, motivation and staff retention. Investors in People assessors placed special emphasis on Citylink’s bold improvements in employee relations after placing staff at the core of its business.

The innovative Employee Forum, a devise used by Citylink to bring all levels of staff together for discussion, won praise for its use as a briefing tool, a listening device and as a general gauge of staff opinion.

Neil Wood, Managing Director of Scottish Citylink, commented: “We are delighted to receive this accreditation on our first attempt. Investors in People is a national standard which sets a level of good practise for improving an organisation’s performance through its people.

“As a result of the team work and preparation that went into winning the accolade we have benefited greatly through heightened coherence and enhanced staff morale.

“We recently invested £2 million pounds in our flagship M8 route, which could not have been achieved without a strong staff structure in place. This award is a tribute to all out staff who have shown terrific commitment throughout the company’s development.”

Citylink provides transport to over 200 destinations within Scotland, so whether visitors are looking for a city break in Glasgow or Edinburgh or would like to get away from it all with the help of the beautiful scenery in Skye, Citylink provides the opportunity.

Issued on behalf of Scottish Citylink by The BIG Partnership.
