Scottish Citylink help hundreds of visitors witness history at Holyrood

21.10.2004

Scottish Citylink teamed up with the Scottish Parliament to help hundreds of visitors watch history in the making as the new Holyrood building officially opened for business in Edinburgh earlier this month.

The leading express coach company ensured that more 300 people from across Scotland made it safely to the capital to join in the celebrations.

Some of the more unusual passengers included a brass band from Newton Grange and a Gaelic choir who travelled all the way from Stornoway.

Scottish Citylink also operated services from other key locations including Dumfries, Ayr, Aberdeen, Selkirk, Glasgow, Gourock, Hamilton, Perth, Paisley, Lanark and Livingston and forged a strong partnership with the Scottish Parliament after being awarded the transport contract.

Paul Murphy, Marketing Manager, said: “Scottish Citylink is delighted to have been able to help so many people travel to this memorable event.

“We worked closely with the Scottish Parliament to provide a first-class service to customers from across the country so they could join in the celebration

Issued by the BIG partnership on behalf of Scottish Citylink.
