Scottish Citylink ticket sales soar as motorists choose the coach
Scottish Citylink is offering customers reduced fares on key commuter routes as part of its on-going drive to encourage more motorists to switch from car to coach.
The express bus company has already seen a 20% growth in ticket sales between Perth and Edinburgh after cutting the cost of a ten journey ticket from £33 to £25. Passengers in Milnathort and Kinross which are also served by the Perth to Edinburgh are also benefiting from a reduction in fares.
Following the success of this initiative Citylink has also cut the cost of a ten journey ticket between Edinburgh and Glasgow to £23 and between Dunfermline and Perth to £25.
Paul Murphy, Marketing Manager at Scottish Citylink, said: “We are keen to encourage more commuters to switch from car to coach travel and we are pleased to see such positive results on our Perth-Edinburgh route.
“We are now rolling out reduced fares on ten journey tickets and as well increasing our passenger numbers we also hope to play our part in reducing the number of cars on the road.”
Ten journey tickets allow ten single journeys within a 28 day period and guarantee savings of at least 18% on buying five separate return tickets.
Cityink’s lowest fares are available through the call centre on 08705 50 50 50 or by booking on-line at www.citylink.co.uk.
