SCOTTISH CITYLINK ANNOUNCES ENHANCED NEW TIMETABLE BETWEEN STIRLING AND EDINBURGH

Scottish Citylink has announced service improvements for customers travelling between Stirling and Edinburgh.

The coach operator will introduce a revised timetable from 1 October that provides improved connections for passengers using Edinburgh airport and commuting between Larbert and Edinburgh.

The 909 timetable (Stirling to Edinburgh) will now provide nine journeys from Stirling to the airport and 10 from the airport to Stirling on weekdays. There will be six journeys from Stirling to the Airport and eight returning on Saturdays and two journeys in each direction on Sundays.

Scottish Citylink Operations Director Peter Knight and Gordon Dewar Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport, announce enhanced 909 timetable at Edinburgh Airport.

A new, express journey (X909) will also operate once a day, Monday to Friday, serving two new stops in Larbert; Forth Valley Hospital (0736hrs) and Stirling Road near Old Denny Road (0737hrs), arriving in Edinburgh at 0839hrs. The new service will take almost half the time of the current alternative bus service, reaching the capital in just over one hour making it ideal for commuters. The return journey will leave Edinburgh at 1715hrs.

Peter Knight, Operations Director for Scottish Citylink said: “We’re excited to be able to offer this new direct service linking the airport directly to Stirling, Grangemouth and Bo’ness. Aimed at both business and local travellers, it will make getting to and from the Airport that little bit easier for all concerned.

He continued: “The new express service that links Larbert with Edinburgh will also help make commuters lives that little bit easier. By reducing the bus journey time to just over an hour, passengers will be able to make their working day much more manageable. This perfectly timed journey will reach the city centre before 9am and leave shortly after 5pm.”

Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive Officer of Edinburgh Airport said: I am delighted at the launch of this route.  We’ve worked hard in the past few years to develop our public transport links across Scotland.  The Stirling area has been underserved it’s fantastic that the 909 service will now provide this much needed direct link.”

Passengers will pay only £9 day return for the journey or for regular travellers, an unlimited weekly travel across the route will cost only £40.
